Who We Are

Stones Audio is operated by Aaron Stoehner. We create professional music production software — currently ANVIL (a 16-pad drum sampler) and FETCH (an all-in-one plugin tool and manager) — and sell them through this website.

Information We Collect

Website visitors

When you visit stonesaudio.com, Google Analytics automatically collects certain data, including your IP address (anonymized), browser and device type, pages visited, time on site, and referring URL. This data is aggregated and used solely to understand how visitors use the site.

Customers

When you purchase a product, our payment processor (Lemon Squeezy, or an alternative such as Payhip) collects your name, email address, billing country, and payment information. We receive a confirmation of your purchase — including your name, email, and order details — so we can deliver your license key and download link. Your full payment card details are handled entirely by the payment processor and never pass through our systems.

Newsletter subscribers

If you opt in to our mailing list (available at checkout or on the site), we collect your email address only. Subscription is entirely optional and you may unsubscribe at any time.

Software users

ANVIL and FETCH are fully offline desktop applications. They do not connect to the internet, do not collect usage data, and do not transmit any information to us or any third party. Zero telemetry.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • License delivery — to send you your license key, download link, and purchase receipt after a completed transaction.
  • Customer support — to respond to questions or issues you contact us about.
  • Newsletter — to send product updates, release announcements, and occasional news, only if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.
  • Site analytics — to understand how visitors use stonesaudio.com so we can improve its content and performance. This uses aggregated, anonymized Google Analytics data and no individual is identified.
  • Legal and accounting obligations — to maintain purchase records as required by applicable tax and accounting law.

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose not listed above.

04

Cookies

stonesaudio.com uses cookies in the following limited ways:

  • Google Analytics — sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to distinguish visitors and measure session activity. IP addresses are anonymized. No advertising networks receive this data.
  • Theme preference — a single localStorage entry (stones-theme) stores your dark/light mode preference. This never leaves your device.

We do not set advertising, tracking, or third-party cookies beyond Google Analytics.

To opt out of Google Analytics across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or configure your browser to block cookies.

05

Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services, each of which operates under its own privacy policy:

  • Lemon Squeezy — our primary payment processor and storefront. Handles payment collection, tax calculation, and digital delivery. Subject to the Lemon Squeezy Privacy Policy.
  • Alternative payment processors — we may use other processors such as Payhip if Lemon Squeezy is unavailable. Any alternative processor will be subject to equivalent data-handling standards and their own privacy policy, which will be disclosed at the point of checkout.
  • Google Analytics — website traffic measurement. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. Data shared with the services above is limited to what is necessary to fulfill the stated purpose (e.g., completing a transaction or measuring site usage).

06

Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary:

  • Purchase records — retained for as long as required by applicable tax and accounting regulations (typically 7 years).
  • Support communications — retained for as long as the correspondence is reasonably needed for follow-up, then deleted.
  • Newsletter subscribers — retained until you unsubscribe. After unsubscribing, your email is removed from our mailing list promptly.
  • Google Analytics data — retained according to Google's default data retention settings (26 months for user-level data).
07

Your Rights — EU & UK (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR:

  • Right to rectification — you may ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to erasure — you may request deletion of your personal data, subject to any legal obligations we have to retain it.
  • Right to data portability — you may request your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
  • Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent (e.g., newsletter subscription), you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
  • Right to object — you may object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Right to lodge a complaint — you have the right to file a complaint with your local supervisory authority (e.g., the ICO in the UK, or your national DPA in the EU).

Our lawful basis for processing purchase data is contract performance. Our lawful basis for analytics is legitimate interests. Our lawful basis for newsletters is consent.
